First memory of Chicago?
I came to Chicago for the first time in 2006 to compete in Tennis at the Gay Games. I lived in Minneapolis at the time so I came here for the 10 days and absolutely fell in love with the city, the views, the energy and the people. I had a few free days to just wander around and enjoyed every part of the city.
How long have you been in Real Estate?
I’ve been a Realtor for 4 years now and I love it. I’ve been really fortunate to have fantastic clients which make my job so incredibly rewarding.
What's your favorite part about what you do?
My favorite part of being a Realtor is getting to know my clients better through all of the steps of a real estate transaction. Most of my clients actually become really good friends of mine. It’s really more about building relationships to me than selling homes; and that’s my favorite part.
What do you love most about Chicago?
I grew up in a small city in WI on the Lake Shore. I grew up loving the water. I moved away to Minneapolis after WI, but I missed being along the water. I live just off of Lake Shore Dr right now and I absolutely love being close to Lake Michigan. I play tennis, run, bike, relax at the beach…the water is also just so peaceful.
What are your interests outside of work?
Playing tennis is my favorite thing to do when I’m not working. I play in a league and try to get on the court whenever I can. I also love to do yoga, working, bike, run, and hit the beach.
Favorite exercise to get beach body ready?
Playing tennis really keeps me in the best shape I can be in. Allows me to still eat whatever I want because I can still burn off the calories. Yoga definitely helps keep the core strong though. So between tennis and yoga I’d say, together they keep that beach bod around year round.
Favorite Chicago pizza place?
Dominos! Haha Go ahead and cringe, but I’d take Dominos Pan Pizza any day!
Favorite first date spot?
Wang’s – Delicious cocktails and a really cool atmosphere.
Worst date story:
How much time do you have? haha I had made dinner reservations and Mia Frencesca and we were going to meet at Aldine and Broadway and walk to dinner together. He didn’t show up and after I was waiting for about 30 min I text him and he said he wasn’t feeling well. The next day he text me and said he wanted to take me to lunch to apologize. He was going to pick me up so I got dressed and ready and he never showed up. Not sure if that counts since it never happened…
First thing you would buy if you won the lottery (I'm talking Mega Millions here)
A Cadillac CTS-V
The bar is closing, where are you going for late night food?
I’m in bed when the bar closes. I turn into a pumpkin at Midnight haha. What can I say, I need my beauty sleep!
Real estate horror story:
Early in my career I received a lead, fun guy who wanted to buy a single family home in Beverly. After multiple trips to Beverly, showing tons of homes, and market analysis on multiple homes I got a call from his GF and she said he was abusive and that she was leaving him and that he wouldn’t be buying a home anymore. She was very nice and thanked me for all of my hard work, but I felt so bad for the situation!
